Tiernan O’Mahoney faced four Revenue charges at Dublin District Court on 14 November 2013 and was directed to stand trial on indictment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 15 November 2013.
The charges allege that, while an officer of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation Plc, he consented to the bank knowingly and wilfully concealing an account; conspired with persons unknown to obstruct or interfere with a Revenue officer; conspired with persons unknown to conceal an account the bank was required to produce for inspection; and produced incorrect tax documents, namely a list of bank accounts.
O’Mahoney made no reply to the charges after caution and had not indicated how he would plead. Judge Patricia McNamara dealt with the appearance, and the report said bail had been agreed without objection from the defence.
Bail was set in a €1,000 own bond. He was required to live at his home, sign on every Friday at Bray Garda Station, and give 48 hours’ notice of an address change or travel outside Ireland or Britain; signing-on was suspended while he was abroad. He was ordered to appear again on 6 February.
