Thomas O’Connor’s extradition case over a £5m tax fraud was adjourned by the Supreme Court on 9 October 2018.
The court said there was no apparent real risk that his rights would not be respected if he were surrendered to the UK.
It gave his lawyers four weeks to make further submissions to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
O’Connor remains wanted in the UK to serve a four-and-a-half-year sentence connected with the tax fraud.
The Supreme Court said it would consider whether to uphold the extradition order unless the European court proceedings remained active.
