Thomas McMahon and Noel Noonan trial adjourned

By Rory Hanlon

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Thomas McMahon and Noel Noonan’s trial was adjourned on 26 March 2014 after a court hearing concerning alleged recordings of solicitor calls.

The men had raised concerns that telephone conversations with their solicitors before Garda interviews might have been recorded. Detective Superintendent Thomas Maguire told the court there were no recording facilities at Cahir or Clonmel Garda stations, although his information was based on what Superintendent Flynn had told him. The court ordered Superintendent Flynn to give evidence at 2pm.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
