Mr Justice Paul Gilligan adjourned TeamDrive Systems GMBH’s infringement case in the High Court on 5 April 2017.
The German software company claims that Google’s use of a product called “Team Drives” infringes its European Union trademark. Its case is against Google Ireland Ltd and Google Commerce Ltd.
The claims are denied. Google’s lawyers said in correspondence that the term would not be used in a trademark sense and was merely intended to describe a feature of its Google Drive product. TeamDrive does not accept that explanation.
The judge adjourned the case until the following month to allow the sides to exchange legal documents for a hearing of TeamDrive’s application for injunctions pending the full hearing of the dispute.
