Tairgi Acla Ltd was placed into provisional liquidation by the High Court on 8 December 2017 after the Achill Island brewery was reported to be insolvent and unable to pay its debts.
The company, based in Bunnacurry, operated the Achill Island brewery and had a creditors list totalling €158,000. John Healy of Kirby Healy Chartered Accountants was appointed provisional liquidator to secure its assets and stock, while two employees could process claims for redundancy, unpaid wages and holiday pay.
The appointment followed a decision to wind up the company after it lost its insurance and brewing licence, with electricity disconnection threatened over unpaid debts. The matter was adjourned to the following month.
