‘Suspicious activity’: Limerick homeowners warned once again to lock their doors

Aoife Bannon - of the community policing unit in Limerick - said that 'We know that thieves are always on the lookout for easy opportunities'
A number of reports have been made of people walking around, checking whether homes or car doors are left unlocked at Limerick housing estates, according to Sergeant Aoife Bannon.
Aoife Bannon - of the community policing unit in Limerick - said that “We know that thieves are always on the lookout for easy opportunities”.
“Our advice remains the same as always – take a moment to check that your car and home doors are locked, especially at night. If you have an intruder alarm, we’d encourage listeners to partset it before going to bed — that way if a door is opened, the alarm will activate.”
The sergeant encouraged anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity to report it straight away to 999 or to contact your local Garda station.
