Stacia Purcell image case adjourned by High Court

By Cathal Brosnan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The family of Stacia Purcell’s action over alleged use of her image in a horror film was adjourned by the High Court on 30 October 2014.

The family seeks orders preventing further broadcasts or distribution of Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort, which they say used an image supplied to help find Purcell without their consent.

The judge refused a temporary injunction at that stage, when only one side was represented, but allowed short service and gave the respondents time to file an affidavit. The matter was put back to allow lawyers to exchange documents.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
