Sodiq Jimoh was jailed for five years and four months at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 18 March 2025 for his role in laundering money stolen through online fraud and bank scams. Judge Martin Nolan imposed the sentence.

Jimoh, 30, of Rossfield Close in Tallaght, Dublin, pleaded guilty to helping an organised crime group and nine counts of money laundering. The offences took place between May 2019 and August 2020. The proceedings were reported on 18 March 2025.

The report said Jimoh laundered more than €1m and was due to receive 30% of the money. Detective Garda Ester Devally said he controlled and managed the movement of money for the gang.

The investigation focused on two Ulster Bank accounts associated with frauds of more than €387,000 and €83,000. A phone number associated with the accounts was registered to Jimoh, while the account owners did not have access to them. Gardaí found lodgements totalling €26,000 into accounts linked to him.

The report said WhatsApp conversations on Jimoh's phone included screenshots of bank details and messages in which he wrote: “I need a bank card for this” and “Fam, at the end of the day it is free money”. It also said he was captured on CCTV making ATM withdrawals from money mule accounts.
