Shannon Avril Holland won €27,000 from the Workplace Relations Commission over sexual harassment, in a decision reported on 22 January 2024.
The WRC upheld her complaint under the Employment Equality Act 1998 against Ability West. The commission found that lewd texts and unwanted touching by her line manager amounted to sexual harassment, and that Holland should have received the final report into her complaint.
The WRC also found that Ability West had not shown it provided adequate training on its dignity at work policies. It ordered the organisation to pay Holland €27,000 in compensation.
The tribunal had not yet published its decision on her separate complaint of constructive dismissal.
