Shane Kehoe’s unfair dismissal claim against Fettercairn Youth Horse Project was declared not well founded by the Workplace Relations Commission on 29 April 2022.

The WRC heard the claim at a remote hearing on 17 January 2022. Kehoe had worked as a trainee instructor and was dismissed after the project treated a text message as gross misconduct.

Adjudication officer Orla Jones found some procedural deficiencies, but concluded they did not make the dismissal unfair. She found the decision fell within the band of reasonable responses and declared the claim not well founded.
