Sean Ambrose has brought a High Court challenge in Dublin over his exclusion from a state scheme compensating victims of violent crime. The proceedings were reported on 17 October 2023.

Ms Justice Niamh Hyland granted Ambrose permission on an ex-parte basis to bring the judicial review. He claims the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal wrongly held that it could not assess his claim, and seeks orders quashing that decision and its refusal to allow an appeal.
