Rodel Padilla was given a fully suspended three-year sentence for deception at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 16 January 2025, by Judge Martin Nolan.

Padilla pleaded guilty to deception involving overstated overtime payments of about €56,000 at the Beacon Hospital between July 2021 and August 2023. The report said he told gardaí he was sending money home because of family difficulties, believed the figure was closer to €20,000, and took full responsibility when told it was higher.

Defence counsel said Padilla had suffered severe financial pressure, lost his career and caused irreparable damage to his life. The proceedings were reported on 16 January 2025.
