Robbie Walsh had the full 12-month suspended part of his manslaughter sentence activated at the Central Criminal Court on 21 March 2024, after receiving 15 months in prison for assaulting Martin Burke, threatening to kill another person and criminal damage to a house and vehicle.
The 12-month term was ordered to begin after the 15-month sentence. Mr Justice Paul McDermott said Walsh’s conditions included keeping the peace and being of good behaviour for three years.
The earlier sentence followed a 2019 jury verdict finding Walsh not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter in the death of Karl “Gobbo” Haugh. Walsh had pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Haugh. The proceedings were reported on 21 March 2024.
