A retired doctor lost his appeal against two consecutive sentences for indecently assaulting teenage patients at the Court of Appeal on 3 July 2019. The sentences totalled 20 months’ imprisonment.
The man, who cannot be identified by order of the court, had been convicted at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of indecently assaulting two 15-year-old patients. The Court of Appeal found no error in principle and dismissed the appeal, saying concurrent sentences would not have been appropriate.
