A potential juror had a panic attack during selection for a financial fraud trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 11 January 2016. The selection involved the trial of William McAteer and three co-accused, who denied conspiring to mislead investors through transactions involving Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent.
The enlarged jury of 15 was completed after more than 270 people attended the selection process. Judge Martin Nolan warned jurors not to investigate or discuss the case and said evidence was expected to take about 20 weeks.
