Phillip McCabe jailed for two Dublin robberies

By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Phillip McCabe was jailed for five and a half years for two robberies at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. He pleaded guilty to both counts, and the proceedings were reported on 8 July 2021.

The offences occurred on 3 March 2019 at separate locations in Clontarf and Donnycarney. Judge Martin Nolan imposed five and a half years for one robbery and three and a half years for the other, with both terms concurrent.

The report said McCabe attributed his inability to remember the robberies to head injuries from a later road accident, while admitting he had probably committed them. His defence also said drug abuse had fuelled his behaviour.
