Philip Byrne jailed for five years after guilty pleas to four offences

Recorded in July 2022, Philip Byrne, 41, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assault, threatening to kill or cause serious harm, producing a kitchen knife and false imprisonment.

He received five years’ imprisonment, including seven years for false imprisonment with two suspended and three-and-a-half years for each other offence.
