Paul Shanahan admitted an error about Covid-19 business-interruption cover in the High Court, in evidence reported on 14 October 2020.
He had told Noel Anderson, managing director of Lemon & Duke, that FBD’s policy covered losses caused by a forced closure, but later learned the public-house policy did not cover Covid-19.
The evidence was given during test cases brought by four pubs over FBD’s refusal to indemnify disruption losses. FBD disputes that the policies covered the claims, and the hearing continued.
