By Offaly Live Court Reporter, Midland/Tullamore Tribune (OffalyLive.ie)

A MAN appeared before Tullamore District Court accused of using a fake Romanian driver licence.

Robert Cristinel Codreanu (22), with an address at Cumeen Court, Main Street, Banagher, is alleged to have committed the offence on June 7 last year at the National Driving Licence Service.

When Mr Codreanu appeared in the District Court he was assisted by an interpreter but did not have a solicitor.

He told Judge Cody he worked in Banagher Concrete and while he had not spoken to a solicitor, he would like to do so.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns said the prosecution evidence could be given to the accused.

Judge Cody remanded Mr Codreanu on continuing bail to appear in court again on October 28 next when he will either enter a plea of guilty or get a date for a hearing.

The judge also told the man to get a solicitor.
