Garda Nicholas Keogh gave evidence at the Disclosures Tribunal, reported on 22 October 2019.

The tribunal was examining how Keogh was treated after he made a protected disclosure in 2014.

During cross-examination, counsel for An Garda Síochána questioned diary entries about meetings with politicians and Keogh’s concerns about Garda management.

The tribunal heard that Detective Superintendent Declan Mulcahy had recorded Keogh speaking about an attack on management and taking Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan down.

Keogh said he had held a firm view about Ms O’Sullivan, but did not want to remove everyone from office.

The tribunal was in its second week of hearing evidence from Keogh, who made allegations about a senior Athlone drugs-unit member.
