Nicholas Keogh’s protected-disclosures tribunal hearing was adjourned in Dublin on 2 March 2020, with the inquiry due to resume the following day. The tribunal was examining allegations concerning the treatment of Garda Keogh after a protected disclosure, including claims of bullying and harassment.

During the hearing, Chief Superintendent John Scanlan gave evidence about taking a statement from Garda Keogh under the bullying and harassment policy. He said the statement and supporting documents had been sent to Assistant Commissioner Fintan Fanning by 12 April 2017, while other evidence concerned a later alleged threat of physical assault against him. Scanlan accepted that the phone-call incident had been resolved within An Garda Síochána, although he said he was unhappy with how it had been concluded.
