The National Bus and Rail Workers Union was granted High Court leave to challenge bus routes put out to tender, reported on 20 April 2015. The union says almost 30 routes operated by Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus should not have been tendered, including services in Dublin’s commuter areas and Waterford City.
The union and member Pauric Wall seek orders quashing three National Transport Authority decisions dated 22 January 2015. Mr Justice Seamus Noonan granted the ex parte application and returned the judicial review proceedings to early June.
