Nataliya Matviyenko sued the State over alleged negligence and breach of duty during a Castlerea Prison security check, in proceedings before the High Court reported on 22 April 2015. The defendants denied she was asked to remove her trousers and said prison officers treated her appropriately and professionally.

Matviyenko claimed a prison officer told her to remove jeans with decorative metal studs before she passed through a metal detector. She said her underwear was accidentally pulled down, leaving her exposed briefly, while the State’s witness denied asking her to remove her trousers. The case was continuing.
