A Munster father was jailed for 15 years for rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation and wilful neglect at the Central Criminal Court, in a sentencing reported on 18 January 2022.

The offences involved his three eldest children, while he was also convicted of wilfully neglecting five children and mistreating three by administering medication.

The judge said the children had suffered enormous harm and imposed three years of post-release supervision, with no direct or indirect contact with them.
