More than 25 people resolved an application over alleged privacy and defamation claims at the High Court on 21 February 2020. The claims concerned photographs, names and addresses displayed on Garda briefing bulletins at Kilmainham Garda Station.
The applicants alleged that images of the bulletins were circulated online, and sought the contractor’s details to pursue claims concerning privacy, defamation and data protection. Justice Leonie Reynolds was told the matter had been resolved after the Commissioner consented to provide the name and address, subject to an undertaking restricting their use.
