Michelle O’Leary was sentenced to seven years, with the final 12 months suspended, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. She pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, producing a knife and impersonating a garda, and to burglary, attempted robbery and false imprisonment.
The offences involved two older men living alone. In April 2021, O’Leary entered a 90-year-old neighbour’s home, produced a knife and took €60; in March 2021, she and a co-accused entered another neighbour’s home and sought €100.
The judge described the offences as premeditated and involving vulnerable victims. The report said the older victim had not returned to his home after the incident.
