Michael Lowry was allowed to challenge his alleged tax offences in the High Court, reported on 5 February 2015. Mr Justice Seamus Noonan granted permission for judicial review after finding an arguable case on all grounds advanced. The court adjourned the challenge for two weeks and stayed his planned Dublin Circuit Court trial pending further order. Lowry denies four allegations that he filed incorrect tax returns in 2003 and 2007. His challenge also concerns the transfer of the trial from Tipperary to Dublin and publicity he says could prejudice a fair hearing.
