Meath man (29) called Garda detective a ‘f**king muppet’
The Drogheda IndependentA man who wanted to speak to a Garda about a separate investigation ended up calling him a “f**king muppet”, the district court has heard.
Alex Black (29), Racecourse Road, Bellewstown, Co. Meath, pleaded guilty to using or engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour or words on April 24 last.
Det Gda John Walsh said that the defendant wanted to meet him. They met but Mr Black became highly irate and was asked to leave Drogheda Garda Station.
In the public office where other people were present he called the officer a “f**king muppet”.
There was one previous conviction for Section 3 possession of drugs.
Solicitor Paul Moore said that this was out of character.
There was a separate investigation and his client was keen to meet Gardaí. He allowed his frustrations get the better of him.
Judge Nicola Andrews gave Mr Black until January 19 to make a €300 donation to the court fund, community service in default.
