Maurice O'Donnell wins injunction over pigeon club suspension

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Maurice O'Donnell secured a temporary injunction from the High Court on 9 May 2017 preventing his suspension from a pigeon-racing organisation. The order was made by Mr Justice Paul Gilligan on an ex parte basis.

The injunction restrains the Irish Homing Union National Flying Club committee and the Irish Homing Union Southern region from suspending Mr O'Donnell's membership. They are also restrained from holding a meeting about the suspension or other issues between the parties.

Mr O'Donnell sought the order over the Southern Region's decision to suspend him, saying he had not been told the reasons or who made the decision. The case was due to return before the court the following week.
