Mary McLoughlin’s unlawful deduction complaint against RTÉ was upheld by the Workplace Relations Commission.

The dispute concerned a contract for her part-time work on Liveline from 4 April to 4 October 2024. RTÉ said an administrative error set her pay at €12,850 for the contract rather than €12,850 per year. The WRC found the broadcaster could not vary the contract unilaterally and that it had unlawfully withheld salary properly payable under it.
