This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Martin Browne’s dismissal over a Dublin Port Tunnel radio prank, as reported on 21 October 2022. The complaint concerned his dismissal under the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977 by Egis Road and Tunnel Operation Ireland Ltd.

The incident occurred on 10 January 2018. Browne’s defence argued that he had been ill with asthma, lacked knowledge of the prank, and was denied statements and CCTV during the investigation. Adjudicating officer Marie Flynn found that he heard the incident and did not stop it, ruling the dismissal reasonable and dismissing the complaint.
