A man has pleaded guilty at Arklow District Court to violent disorder and criminal damage following an incident outside Jack White’s Inn in Wicklow town in 2022.

Connor Cox (32), of Avonbeg Drive, Friars Hill, Wicklow town, pleaded guilty at a sitting of Arklow District Court to charges of violent disorder and criminal damage to a car.

Solicitor for Mr Cox’s co-accused, Robert Reynolds (33), of The Courts, Burkeen, Co Wicklow, Dermot Hickey, informed the court that his client would be entering a plea of not guilty.

The court was told that on July 13, 2022, a group of men began fighting in the car park outside Jack White’s Inn, during which Mr Cox struck a man before “throwing” him into a parked car.

The incident occurred in broad daylight, with the court hearing that following the assault, Mr Cox left the scene.

Solicitor for Mr Cox asked Judge David Kennedy for an adjournment prior to sentencing to allow the accused time to raise €2,000 in compensation. The damage caused to the vehicle amounted to €300.

Judge Kennedy adjourned the matter until February 11, 2026, to allow Mr Cox time to gather the funds and for the judge to review CCTV footage of the assault.

Mr Reynolds’ hearing is scheduled for the same date.
