Man banned from road for year for Offaly drug driving

A BAN from the road for one year was imposed on a man who pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court to drug driving at Urney, Cloneygowan.
Shane Daniels (29), Allendale Avenue, Baltinglass, Wicklow was summonsed by Garda Garry Martin for committing the offence on June 26 last year.
A plea of guilty was entered on behalf of Mr Daniels by Patrick Martin, solicitor.
Judge Andrew Cody was told by court presented Sergeant Brendan Kearns that the driver was fully co-operative with the gardai and had no previous convictions.
Mr Martin said his client worked in construction and asked for a postponement of the disqualification from driving until November 1 next because Mr Daniels would have to get a new job.
Judge Cody ordered that the one-year driving ban begin on that date and also imposed a fine of €200.
