Luke Woods’ contested unfair dismissal and temporary agency worker complaints against the HSE were adjourned by the Workplace Relations Commission on 30 November 2023.
The complaints concerned his work in a residential centre in Co Westmeath between September 2020 and April 2021. Woods said he was removed from a roster after raising concerns about patient care, while HSE HR officer Mary Quinn denied that he had been dismissed and said he was still working shifts in the same district. The HSE also maintained that Nurse on Call was the correct employer for the dismissal claim.
Adjudicator Janet Hughes directed the HSE to provide more specific information about Woods’ working hours and the handling of his complaint before a future hearing. The proceedings were reported on 1 December 2023.
