Lois West seeks recusal in WRC harassment case

By Ruairí Dolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Lois West’s claim of penalisation, bullying and harassment after raising homicide-data concerns was adjourned by the Workplace Relations Commission on 18 December 2024.

At the hearing, West’s barrister sought to pause proceedings so a motion asking adjudicator Roger McGrath to recuse himself could be heard. West’s complaints name the Garda Commissioner, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, and the Government as respondents.

McGrath asked West’s legal team to make written submissions on the recusal motion and whether another hearing day was needed; the State was invited to respond.
