Linda Bishop gave evidence at Dublin District Coroner’s Court on 23 June 2023 about escaping the Stardust fire, in which 48 people died.

She said the main entrance doors were closed soon after she got outside, while people remained inside and could be heard screaming.

Bishop said she and a friend reached a hallway near the entrance, where smoke and fumes made breathing difficult before they escaped.

She described the scene outside as “mayhem” and said people were looking for their brothers, sisters and friends.
