Leeanne Moore won her pregnancy discrimination claim against Brandon Taverns Ltd at the Workplace Relations Commission, in a decision reported on 31 October 2024. The WRC awarded her €17,500 for discrimination and €500 for the employer’s failure to provide a written statement of employment terms.

The WRC found that the company had discriminated against Ms Moore on the grounds of pregnancy. The adjudicator said the company had introduced unproven sexual misconduct allegations against her only after her dismissal, and found that she had not been given an opportunity to answer them.
