Kerry Foods faced a picketing dispute over working conditions at its Shillelagh plant in Wicklow, reported on 21 May 2014.

About 30 technicians belonging to the Technical, Engineering & Electrical Union had been working to rule for several weeks.

The technicians said new conditions were imposed without negotiations or consultation, while the company said an agreement covered most employees.

The changes included longer working weeks, lower overtime rates, compulsory bank-holiday work and altered shift patterns.
