Julian Flohr’s appeal against his conviction for IRA membership was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on 12 March 2020. He had been convicted by the Special Criminal Court on 25 January 2019 and sentenced to two years and ten months’ imprisonment on 18 February 2019.
The Court of Appeal said evidence connected to a mortar replica found in the vehicle supported the membership conviction. The sentence was backdated to 20 May 2018 to account for time spent in custody on remand.
