Mr Justice Tony Hunt warned that another breach of tweeting restrictions during Graham Dwyer’s murder trial would result in someone being jailed for contempt. He issued the warning on Wednesday.

He told those attending that remarks made without the jury present must not be tweeted. He also reminded them that reporting restrictions covered those sessions. The proceedings were reported on 7 March 2015.

A member of the public had tweeted material on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Justice Tony Hunt accepted that the person had not known the rules. He nevertheless warned that another such incident would bring imprisonment for contempt.

Graham Dwyer, 42, faced a charge alleging that he murdered Elaine O’Hara, a childcare worker aged 36, at Killakee, Rathfarnham, on 22 August 2012. He has pleaded not guilty. His trial was continuing, with Mr Justice Tony Hunt presiding and a jury comprising five women and seven men.
