John Waters and Gemma O’Doherty’s High Court challenge to Covid-19 laws remained opposed by the State, as reported on 21 April 2020.

The pair sought to have pandemic legislation and temporary restrictions declared unconstitutional and struck down. The State asked for an adjournment to prepare its response and said the Dáil, Seanad and Ceann Comhairle should be added as notice parties.

Ms Justice Deirdre Murphy directed that the leave application should be heard, while adjourning the matter for a further mention after one week.
