John Paul Buck lost his murder conviction appeal at the Court of Criminal Appeal on 27 November 2014.
Buck was convicted of fatally stabbing Fergus Roche while he slept at a vacant house in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, on 1 October 2005. He was jailed for life in February 2009 and also received a concurrent five-year sentence for arson.
The appeal included an argument that an alleged confession to Detective Garda Larry Bergin should not have been admitted. The court found the statement was given voluntarily and dismissed the appeal.
