The High Court approved John Maloney’s personal insolvency arrangement on 19 December 2022, allowing him to write off more than €3.4 million in debt.
The arrangement followed property development projects financed by loans he personally guaranteed, including a nursing home development and a land partnership, neither of which succeeded.
Under the 12-month arrangement, Maloney was to pay creditors €35,000, including €5,000 for insolvency application costs. Creditors were expected to do better than in bankruptcy, and no objections were made.
On completion, the arrangement would allow Maloney to return to solvency.
