John Lewis told Dublin’s Coroner’s Court on 10 May 2023 that his sister Paula was among 48 people killed in the Stardust fire.

He said the family’s grief was unbearable and they would never have closure, even four decades after her death.

Lewis said being told what Paula’s life was worth and how to avoid a legal system inaccessible to many working-class people added insult to injury.
