Joe Walsh Pilgrimtours gets provisional liquidators appointed

By Ruairí Dolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Joe Walsh Pilgrimtours Ltd had joint provisional liquidators appointed by the High Court on 28 April 2021 after being declared insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

The company provided group pilgrimage tours to Lourdes, Fatima, Rome and Medjugorje, but the Covid-19 pandemic halted its planned trips and it resolved to wind up.

Eamonn Richardson and Andrew O’Leary of KPMG were appointed, with powers to take control of the company and address creditors. The court heard that about 3,000 creditors were owed roughly €5 million, mainly customers who had paid for tours, and that applications to the Commission for Aviation Regulation were expected to assist refunds.
