Jasmine Olaru gave evidence about alleged sexual harassment at a Workplace Relations Commission hearing reported on 23 February 2024; the incidents were alleged at a Dublin store.
She described ten alleged incidents between February and September 2022, including a name badge bearing a picture of breasts and remarks she said were sexual in nature.
Olaru said she was 18 and in sixth year of secondary school when she began working at the shop in February 2022.
Remo Foods Ltd denied the complaints and argued it had a complete defence because Olaru had not used its internal complaints process. The company said senior management learned of the allegations through the WRC complaint.
The hearing closed on 23 February 2024, and adjudicator Elizabeth Spelman was to issue a decision later.
