James Kiernan’s hotel sale dispute adjourned over asylum housing

By Cathal Brosnan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

James Kiernan’s High Court dispute over the sale of the Shannon Key West Hotel was adjourned on 29 November 2018, after an injunction application concerning planned asylum accommodation. The hotel is in Rooskey, near the Leitrim-Roscommon border.

Paradub Ltd claims it agreed to buy the property from Kiernan and that the proposed asylum accommodation breached that agreement. Kiernan denies the claims; the court was told an arrangement existed for asylum accommodation from 7 January, while the judge gave Paradub time to consider a sworn response.
