Jack Donohue resentenced for indecent assault after appeal

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Jack Donohue was resentenced to two years’ imprisonment, with the final 15 months suspended, by the Court of Appeal on 31 July 2017 after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent assault.

The offences involved an eight-year-old girl in Co Wicklow between September 1968 and September 1969, according to the judgment reported by the Irish Examiner.

The court said the offending was serious but held that his poor health and frailty justified suspending a greater portion of the sentence.
