The High Court said it would make an order for Eamon Harrison's surrender to the United Kingdom in connection with charges arising from the deaths of 39 people in a lorry trailer.
In a judgment delivered on 24 January 2020, Mr Justice Binchy dismissed Harrison's objections to the surrender application.
The European Arrest Warrant concerned 39 alleged manslaughter offences, conspiracy to commit a human trafficking offence and conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration.
Among the objections made on Harrison's behalf were that surrender for the manslaughter offences was prohibited and that the alleged conspiracy offences did not correspond to offences under Irish law.
The warrant was dated 30 October 2019 and was endorsed by the High Court on 31 October. Harrison was arrested and brought before the court on 1 November 2019. The application was heard on 12 and 13 December 2019.
