The High Court ruled that €10,700 found at the Tallaght home of Lisa Moore and her partner Robert Keeley was the proceeds of crime. The proceedings were reported on 29 January 2019.
Ms Moore denied that the cash was the proceeds of crime and said it came from the sale of a car belonging to her. The Criminal Assets Bureau accepted that she was not involved in criminal activity and had no criminal convictions. CAB disputed her explanation for the cash, saying it lacked detail.
The money was found during a Garda search of the couple’s home at Donomore Crescent, Tallaght, Dublin 24, on 31 August 2016. CAB said €3,200 was found in a man’s jacket and €7,500 in a knee-high boot.
CAB’s application was due to be heard by Ms Justice Carmel Stewart, but the matter was settled after talks between lawyers for the bureau and Ms Moore. Following the settlement, the judge was told an order deeming the cash proceeds of crime could be made. Mr Keeley did not make an application concerning the cash.
